• The decision was made to close our clinic at 4800 Riverbend, Road Suite 150, as of November 15th, 2014. We thank everyone in our community for the loving and kind support. There will be an opportunity for women to follow Kala and Erin to Boulder Women's Care. This is a combined midwife and physician practice where you may see a midwife or physician for your visit and also for your birth. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email. Women who are currently patients will receive a phone call and letter next week. It has been such a pleasure to work in this community. I feel grateful and have learned so much. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Stay in touch via Boulder Birth on Facebook and on this website. We will update you with any potential "in hospital birth center" midwifery options as we hear of them.

    Much love, Merrilynn

"When we talk about our birth(s), we look at each other and smile." Gia and Josh, Boulder, Colorado. Birthed with Certified Nurse Midwives in 2004 and 2006.

At Boulder Nurse Midwives we want your pregnancy, birth and post-partum period to be the most empowering and joyous experience of your life. Before all else, we are midwives. We care about the quality of your birth experience from start to finish. Over the course of your pregnancy we will meet frequently and talk until all of your questions are answered. We will get to know one another well while preparing for your delivery. During your delivery we will be at your side and offer you support while you birth your baby. Post partum we will be available for physical and emotional support and offer referral services as needed.

We are also nurses. We believe that birth is a natural process and a majority of the time a non-medical event. Although it is likely that you won't need the services of a doctor during your pregnancy, we work closely with the medical community. We consult and refer if you require the services and expertise of physicians. We are certified by two boards, those of registered nurses (RNs) and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs). Boulder Women's Care , an OB/GYN practice of five, female physicians is available if complications arise.
